10nth of May 2016
Islands, beaches, caves… a full day!!!

Chicken Island, Si Island, Tub Island, Ko Poda , Railay Beach και Phra Nang Cave

For this day our program would include a tour with speed boat at the area around Krabi.
After having started our trip we had a first stop at Ao Railay West Island, since we had to take two last passengers who would participate on this tour.

Our second stop was at Chicken Island for some photos. It takes its name from the chicken-shaped rock forming its southern tip.

The islet combines steep cliffs and also beautiful beaches that stretch along the peninsula. The peninsula gets flooded at high tide, creating a small island.

We swam in Tup Island, which during low tide is connected by a long and skinny sand bar with the near by islet, the Si Island.

We immersed in the tipid waters, walked on the sand and enjoyed unique pictures offered by the visitors, especially by the modest Muslims who were bathing with all their clothes on, loyal to their religious code of decorum.

Truth be told, they were enjoying their holidays to the maximum and were well equipped with cameras and mobile phones of the latest technology.

The lightest bath suit version we saw was Bermuda pants and breathable T-shirt, which had the advantage to dry immediately, as soon as we would embark.

No wonder, why our guiders were quite fond of this bath suit version too, since it was offering an extra protection from the scorching sun.

I guess, we found very useful and practical ourselves this particular bath-suit version and decided to adopt it in our following trips.

But there was one more reason which contributed to this decision.

In our multicultural traveling adventures we become acquainted with people from different countries, with different cultures and customs, so we thought that it was the least we could do as a sign of respect to the diversity of our co-travellers.
We stopped for food in Koh Poda Island.

It is a small limestone island covered with palm and pine trees and almost entirely encircled by a soft white sand beach

There is also a coral reef, which lies about 20 metres from the beach. The irresistible combination of scenery and soft sand make the island one of the most popular tourist destinations, at this part of the world.

The famous, magnificent cliff may perfectly boast, from now onwards, that its beauty fascinated two more of its visitors who could never take enough photos of it with their mobile phones and cameras…

Another stop for snorkelling followed, but the waters were blurry and too hot.

We disembarked, eventually, with some difficulties due to the tide, in the Ao Railay East Island, since we wanted to see the monkeys and the famous Phranang Cave with its beautiful stalactites.
The island is main pole of attraction for rock climbers from all over the world.

When we returned to our hotel, it was still early afternoon, so we went to splash it to the pool.

Later on we had the joy to live a tropical rain too, which left us with a feeling of freshness and made even more beautiful the tropical forest surrounding our hotel.
