Visa… A very difficult task!!!

We woke up in our hotel, in Mutare, we loaded our baggage into the car and started our day. When we asked at the reception desk some information, as far as the visa procedure to Mozambique, they told us that it would be better to do things formally and visit the visa issuing office in the city. Then they tried to explain how we would reach there.

When they realized that it would be rather difficult for us to find out where the particular building was, they assigned the task to Mr. Gift Chimera, the gardener, who came along to offer his help.

At 7:50 in the morning we were outside the building waiting for the door to open.  At 8 o’clock the first clerk appeared. She had us registered and then let us in. At the desk, they wanted to know what exactly we wanted and then the first difficulties appeared.

“Bank statement!”
“What are you talking about? Where can we find this now? We have cash with us. Dollars and Euros…”
“I’ m afraid it’s not enough! Bank statement is required too!”
“Ok, then! I will take a screen shoot of the page with our accounts, where balance can be seen,
through winbank application (the bank’s link). But I need wifi first”.

Meanwhile, in between password, mail and screen shoot, I met  Bridgette De Souza (Brigittee).

New friends!!! They all wanted to know everything about Greece.

She was a beautiful, smiling, young Mozambican, who adores traveling.

After having finished with the Bank statement, I returned to the reception, where I found Christos along with Gift trying to fill the visa application forms.
I filled them myself and after having given our photos and photocopies of our passports, all the three of us sat there waiting.

But, we had not finished yet. A lesson of geography to all the clerks followed.

They all wanted to know where exactly Greece was on the map.

So, I showed them and also gave them some information about our country, while we were waiting for our visas to be issued and when all was done we returned Mr. Gift to the hotel.

After having made passport photocopies, we said good bye to all of them and started our journey to the border.
