Air tickets – comfortable seats

The best prices are with Turkish Airlines

which fly through Istanbul. We travelled with one way tickets. The prices start from 835 € per person and depend upon the season, the demand and the equivalence of euro and Turkish pound.

The journey to New Zealand has 28 hours duration.

The return from Buenos Aires has 18 hours duration.

The service and the food are excellent, with extra bonus wifi. They charge only 14€ during the whole duration of the flight.

Where to stay (hotels)

11th of September 2015  Oakland

Budget Ibis Auckland Airport
Small rooms, not very functional, they charged us for wifi. Only advantage its location (very near the airport) and the very good price.

13nth of September 2015  Rotorua

Millennium Hotel Rotorua & Spa
Comfortable rooms, quite functional, with views to the lake. It is located right in the centre of the city, with good wifi

14nth of September 2015  Napier

Art Deco Masonic Hotel
Nice, very functional rooms, with views to the sea. It is located at the centre of the city, with good wifi  Very good restaurant

15nth of September 2015  Oakland

Budget Ibis Auckland Airport
We stayed at the same hotel we had stayed on the 11th of September.

15nth of September 2015  Rarotonga

Islander Hotel
Big, functional rooms, with views to the sea. It is located very near the airport, good wifi. Every evening there was dinner at the buffet and performance of dances from the Cook Islands.

16nth of September 2015   Aitutaki

Cook Oasis Holiday Villas
Big rooms, functional, good wifi

17nth of September 2015  Papeete

Tahiti Airport Motel
Big rooms, functional, good wifi. Absolute “must” the butter croissant for breakfast. Very near the airport. The taxi is necessary for transportation.

**Studio Centre

We had done the booking through booking.com, while through mail we had made arrangements with the owner for the transfer. We are still waiting for him… I was glad, when I realized that booking.com has stopped cooperating with this lodging.

18nth of September 2015  Bora-Bora

Maitai Resort

We had done the booking through booking.com. When we arrived we found nobody waiting for us. A taxi driver heard us mentioning the name of the hotel and took the situation in his hands, so as to help us. We were taken to one of the largest hotel complexes of the island…

Big rooms, functional, good wifi, very expensive accommodation, though. Availability in bicycle rental and snorkeling gear

19th of September 2015  Moorea

Hotel Kaveka

We stayed at a classic bungalow, very spacious, although the douche was a bit primitive. Problematic wifi. It created us a negative impression the fact that they charged us for the beach towels, which we were given to take along with us, the next morning.

20th of September 2015 Papeete

Tahiti Pearl Beach Resort
An amazing, really 5 stars, hotel. Big and functional rooms. Problematic wifi.  It had the nicest swimming pool I have ever swum into.

21st of  September 2015 Flight

Flight to the Easter Island

22nd of  September 2015  Easter Island

YARVAIKAFRA b&b
We stayed at an absolutely functional bungalow, very clean, which had everything in it. The owner was willing to help us with everything. The nicest breakfast for a pick nick, with views to the sun rising.

23rd of September 2015  Hanga Roa

YARVAIKAFRA b&b
One more overnight to the above mentioned bungalow.

24th of September 2015  Santiago de Chile

Hotel Diego de Almagro Aeropuerto
Big room, problematic wifi Near the airport

25th of September 2015  Puerto Baras

Radisson Hotel Puerto Varas
Nice hotel, comfortable rooms with views to the lake, nonexistent wifi.

Cold shower, in external temperatures 5-8 degrees of the Celsius climax, creates question marks as far as the way of the hotel’s functioning. Of course, they offered us a shower at a nearby room, but, when it came the time of payment, they asked for money equivalent for booking at a 5 stars hotel and not for a room with a common use bathroom, as they should have done, accordingly to the way the situation had developed.

26th of September 2015  Valdivia

Hotel Dreams Valdivia
An amazing, 5 stars, hotel, with very beautiful, comfortable rooms,
with views to the river, located at the centre of the city. Good wifi, nice breakfast.

27th of September 2015  Santiago

Hotel Diego de Almagro Aeropuerto
Big room, problematic wifi It is located near the airport

28th of September 2015  Buenos Aires

Esplendor Buenos Aires
On the 22nd of February 2015 in Buenos Aires

I had written: It is worthy to visit Buenos Aires even if only to just stay at this hotel.

Perfect, at a beautiful building, the common areas of which are decorated with pieces of art, in the centre of the city, next to one of the most central roads for pedestrians, with subway parking, very near to it.  It has very big rooms with high ceilings, beautifully decorated, with nice breakfast and good wifi.

What a pity really: Room 208 seemed like a poor relative of the room 304, in which we had stayed the previous time of our visit….

 29nth of September 2015  Posadas

HA Urbanio Hotel Posadas
Quite nice hotel, located at the center of the city. Good wifi, simple breakfast.

30th of September  Puerto Iguasu

Iguasu Jungle Lodge
Beautiful apartment at the edge of the village, with a wonderful veranda, over the small river, literally inside the jungle. Good wifi. Good breakfast. Very good price

1st of October 2015  Foz do Iguasu

Mabu Thermas Grand Resort
With no character at all, absolutely plain, almost annoying. The only worthy thing was its breakfast

2nd of October  Santa Maria

Hotel Continental Santa Maria
It was quite nice with comfortable room. Good wifi. Simple breakfast

3rd of October 2015  Punta del Este

Hotel Concorde
Small rooms, not very functional. Good location. Good wifi. The drains had a strange bad odor and more over we got a cold. Very plain breakfast

 4th of October 2015  Montevideo

Axsur Design Hotel
Beautiful boutique hotel, at the centre of the old city. Big, comfortable rooms, with big balcony and views to the sea. Good wifi.  Very good breakfast
